SENT STUDY
Intro to world missions
The SENT study is a five-part, discussion-based study about God’s mission to evangelize the whole world with the gospel of Jesus. Each study below can be completed alone, with a partner, or a group.

Introduction
SENT is an introduction to a short study on the topic of missions. SENT aims to introduce you to who God is, what God wants, and how He wants to accomplish it. Use the below video, questions, and diagrams to enter into the missionary heart of God.

#1 The globe is the goal.
When a Christian understands the goal of God then they can live out the purposes of God in the context of that overarching goal. When the end is clarified, then the means can be applied with laser focus. The Bible is not shy or secretive about that goal. From cover to cover the Bible sings with the sweeping goal of world evangelization.

#2 God is the Missionary.
A proper understanding of missions begins with the Missionary Himself—God. God is the One on mission and we are following after Him. He is the missionary and we are the co-missionaries. God is primary to missions and we are secondary. All complete understandings of missions begins and ends with God.

#3 The Bible, the Book of Mission
God’s Word is our supreme explanation, example, and mandate for mission. The Bible is teeming with evidence of mission. God’s Word makes clear that ever since the garden of Eden, humanity needed a redemptive mission. God then chose to become that mission’s Savior through Jesus to reunite Himself toHis people. Since that time, Jesus has commissioned His people to live the same missionary lifestyle He lived - the Great Commission. From cover to cover the biblical story repeatedly speaks about joining God in His mission. From God’s first words to humanity in Genesis, to His last words in the gospels, the message remains the same: EVERYONE is to go to EVERYPLACE. The biblical basis for mission cannot be missed!

#4 God’s World in Need
God’s world is NOT homogenous. It is a melting pot of culture - made up of all types of peoples, languages, nations, and belief systems. However, today, unlike at any other time in history, we can educate and equip missionaries to minister in this ever-changing harvest field. Therefore, we must become learners of our mission field to become better laborers within it. Getting to know our world will cultivate a need for missions, set a context for missions, and help us to contextualize the gospel in a biblically faithful and relevant way. To win the world we must know the world and understanding its intricacies is invaluable to the current missions movement.

#5 God’s Way is you!
God wills that you would be a KEY piece in the world evangelization puzzle. God has commissioned you to be integrally involved in the finish of His mission. It is not a casual invitation but a mandate given by the Missionary of all missionaries, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Will you join Him?
God has no other plan than to use His people to complete His global mission and bring His kingdom to earth as it is in heaven. By going, giving, or growing, a believer can make an impact in the world and further the gospel’s global goals?
